Software Developer and Systems Designer

WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON

As part of the software team, you will be a technical lead for projects that involve designing, testing, debugging and implementing code that meets development goals. You will collaborate extensively with engineer and project teams to recommend ideas and define, design, modify and maintain new and existing applications. Interaction with key partners and internal users regarding timelines, technical issues and infrastructure integration will be essential. Your confidence in mobile apps and website development will also add tremendous value to the company. WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

As the ideal candidate for this role, you:

  • – ideally have at least 3 years of experience in a technical software development or systems role
  • – have a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • – have iOS development experience – Objective C and Swift, Apple Developer site (maintenance of license and app store releases), and Test flight and ad-hoc releases
  • – have Android development experience – Java, Android Studio and Google Play Store release process
  • – have experience in web development – maintaining and updating company websites, and using WordPress and HTML5
  • – have demonstrated proficiency in database and backend systems – SQL, Django scripting, Bash scripting, AWS maintenance, Linux administrating

Factory Scheduler/Production Planner

 

4iiii Innovations is an engineering and development company designing innovative technologies for elite athletes and recreational fitness enthusiasts. We’re seeking a full-time Factory Scheduler / Production Planner to join our team in Cochrane, Alberta.

 

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

The Factory Scheduler/Production Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining and communicating the 4iiii Innovations Inc. production schedule. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Director of Supply Chain Management to ensure best practices in demand planning, inventory planning, production planning and fulfillment planning. He/she will coordinate the activities of the local production line, as well as the overseas factories providing manufacturing for 4iiii. He/she will analyze and report on actual customer demand, trends and forecasts, and adjust capacity plans accordingly. Ensuring that production schedules are created, completed on time and within budget will provide personal satisfaction for a job well done. As an important member of the Operations team, you will:

  • – Create, maintain and ensure execution of the production schedule
  • – Coordinate activities with overseas factories and local production team
  • – Estimate materials and labour required for production
  • – Coordinate traffic flow of supplies
  • – Work closely with Buyers on inventory levels, forecasts and scheduling
  • – Monitor production progress and ensure that work orders are completed on time and within budget
  • – Advise departments of the status of work in progress and any potential production problems, and provide solutions/alternative scheduling options
  • – Work with other managers to coordinate activities within and between departments
  • – Work with Logistics and Brand Departments on channel fulfillment forecasting, planning and execution
  • – Work with Engineering on implementing new product introduction into factory schedules
  • – Prepare and maintain progress reports
  • – Identify improvements and help implement solutions that increase efficiency and production rates
  • – Review long-term forecasts to identify and mitigate possible capacity/material issues and recommend appropriate action
  • – Recommend components to stock to support a pull system for products and to reduce lead-times
  • – Review demand and supply to understand bottlenecks and propose alternative capacity or areas needing capacity improvement to meet demand
  • – Perform ongoing analysis of weekly, monthly and future capacity to optimize product level loading and achieve manufacturing continuity during low and high volume months
  • – Lead the sales and operating plan process that forecasts matching capacity with demand, lead-time and delivery performance
  • – Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules and other records/reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

As the ideal candidate for this role, you have:

  • – Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or a related field
  • – At least 3 to 5 years of scheduling experience that demonstrates sound planning, prioritization and execution skills
  • – Production experience preferred
  • – Extensive knowledge of MPS/MRP, demand flow, JIT, forecasting, inventory planning and supply chain design
  • – Experience in managing production of overseas factories
  • – Willing to travel if required
  • – A well-defined sense of diplomacy, superior telephone etiquette, strong interpersonal skills, and people management skills
  • – Advanced ability to be analytical, effectively problem-solve, communicate (orally and in writing) and lead business discussions
  • – Experience as a team player working with cross-functional teams
  • – Ability to motivate a team to produce quality work within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
  • – Ability to respond appropriately under pressure with a calm and steady demeanour
  • – Strong organizational skills
  • – Proficiency with planning software systems, as well as Google products, including Docs, Sheets and Slides, and Smartsheets
  • – Able to meticulously maintain filing systems, databases and records
  • – Knowledge of best practices in internal controls
  • – Strong customer service orientation
  • – Knowledge and experience in change management
  • – Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
