Product Manager

We build heart rate monitors, powermeters and smart trainers for athletes, industrial IoT for oil and gas applications, and enterprise software solutions for manufacturers. We’re seeking a full-time, permanent Product Manager (Sport) to join our team in Cochrane, Alberta.

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Product Manager (Sport) is responsible to maximize sales, revenue, market share and profit margins for the products in his/her portfolio. This includes managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision and key features, and liaising with departments such as Engineering, Marketing, and Operations on successful product development and execution. It also includes working with Sales, Marketing and Customer Support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals. Specifically, the Product Manager will:

  • – Define the product strategy and roadmap by analyzing new product opportunities (internal and external) and new features in existing products to support corporate product line diversity, revenue and innovation goals
  • – Approve for release New Product Introductions (NPI) and new versions and features
  • – Lead a team of Product Specialists who manage customers and accounts on the development and execution of custom product, including specifications, agreements, change notifications, support and troubleshooting documentation
  • – Perform analysis of public information on competitor’s financials, product strategy, M&A, market share, news coverage, marketing and wins/losses
  • – Lead development of content for regular executive level presentations on competitors and market conditions
  • – Development of key content to educate field on competitive products, pricing and value proposition
  • – Objectively support product plans and direction by becoming the expert on what competitors are doing in the marketplace
  • – Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to develop product, marketing and partnership strategies
  • – Work with customers, sales teams and service team to identify key business use cases, and drive enhancements and requirements into the product development process
  • – Act as the voice of the customer within the company
  • – Define solution value, differentiation and key marketing messages and communicate the solution with customers, sales team members, partners, analysts and media
  • – Deliver Market Requirement Documents and Product Requirement Documents with prioritized features and corresponding justification
  • – Work with external third parties to assess partnerships, feature and licensing opportunities
  • – Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product
  • – Perform product demos to customers
  • – Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals
  • – Deliver a monthly revenue forecast corresponding to new product and/or feature introduction
  • – Oversee the development and implementation of sales and support tools and collateral for new products and features
  • – Collaborate with Managing Director on an overall budget to ensure success
  • – Support the application and maintenance requirements of grants and funding related to product development through technical writing and periodic updates on development status
  • – Brief and train the sales team as needed
  • – Brief press and analysts and go on press tours

Qualifications

As the ideal candidate for this role, you have:

  • – 1-2 years’ experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager
  • – Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
  • – 3+ years of experience in a job in the sports technology market
  • – Minimum bachelor’s degree in a related field; MBA preferred
  • – Technical background, with experience in product development; electrical, software, and mechanical engineering, and sports technology
  • – Excellent teamwork skills
  • – Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • – Able to provide examples and at least one sample of an effective document delivered in the past
  • – Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • – Proven ability to prepare marketing proposals with a blend of focused research, strategy and creativity
  • – Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • – Energetic, self-motivated and results-oriented
  • – Proven team player who is both flexible and adaptable

Director of Brand

4iiii Innovations is an innovative company designing and developing exciting new technologies. Currently, 4iiii Innovations consists of three business units, one of which is 4iiii Sport. 4iiii Sport develops leading-edge technologies that serves elite and recreational fitness enthusiasts to improve sports performance. We’re seeking a full-time Director of Brand to join our Sports team in Cochrane, Alberta.

Responsibilities

The Director of Brand (Sport), under the direction of the Managing Director (Sport), is responsible for overseeing the marketing, sales and customer service areas under the Sport business unit. The Director of Brand (Sport) provides accurate information within the company on the brand and on competitive products, and works closely with all internal departments and external suppliers involved in the sale and marketing of the product lines. The Director of Brand (Sport) shall also be responsible for overseeing the integration of public relations, media and agency initiatives to optimize business growth and profitability. In addition, as a key leader of the Brand (Sport) team, you will:

  • – Oversee a sales team and determine specific distribution channels to target
  • – Assist in the creation of product training plans for sales representatives
  • – Oversee the development of promotional activities to drive sales and build market credibility and ensure maximum brand exposure for the company
  • – Select, implement and use tracking and reporting tools for monitoring the performance of brand initiatives
  • – Assist in the creation of product design, packaging, labelling, distribution, print and online advertising
  • – Prepare and deliver product presentations and attend trade show events where necessary
  • – Communicate brand awareness plans and programs to the Managing Director (Sport)
  • – Together with the Managing Director (Sport), oversee and be accountable for Sport’s product financial performance
  • – Create and monitor the budget for the Brand department
  • – Inform the marketing team of new brand visions in a timely manner
  • – Oversee Brand team managers to ensure that strategies are executed properly
  • – Review and analyze sales results of the brand’s products to determine future product developments and business opportunities for the brand; identify and forecast market shifts and threats
  • – Provide a supporting role to the Product Management team in conducting competitive analyses to monitor the activities and developments of competing organizations, and making recommendations based on findings
  • – Build and maintain a network of industry contacts and other key relationships in order to stay current with emerging market trends

Qualifications

As the ideal candidate for this role, you have:

  • – +8 years of progressive work experience in marketing, advertising, sales or a related field
  • – +5 years of direct work experience in a managerial capacity in marketing, advertising or sales, preferably in the sports industry
  • – Demonstrated ability to provide clear direction to cross-functional teams, namely marketing, sales and customer service teams
  • – Post-secondary education is ideal, preferably in business administration, marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field
  • – Excellent understanding of and familiarity with brand building and brand management
  • – Demonstrated success in consumer-centric brand strategies, including product launches and execution of sales and marketing efforts
  • – Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate teams, key business partners, and customers

Community Engagement Coordinator

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Marketing & Communications Manager, the Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for 4 areas:

Sponsorship & Partnerships – Establish strategic and collaborative relationships with external organizations and associations; Develop and implement a sponsorship strategy, and assess the benefits of establishing specific partnership arrangements; Dialogue with the potential sponsor and negotiate with them as needed; Plan and manage external communications concerning sponsor teams and athletes; Build and maintain positive relationships with the public and athletic community, including sponsor teams and athletes

Public Relations – Oversee the representation of a positive organizational image and branding to the media, customers, shareholders, sponsor teams and the public; Take appropriate actions to increase the visibility and image of the company; Assist in managing the PR aspect of any potential or present crisis situation

Media Relations – Work with the Marketing & Communications Manager to develop and implement the company’s media-based communication strategies; Prepare and distribute press releases, articles and online communications; Maintain all online communication vehicles for Sport, including the website and social media accounts, and ensure they are aligned with the internal communications strategy

Events & Tradeshows – Assist in the planning, design, production, promotion and overall coordination of company events and tradeshows; Build community relations by attending various events and being involved in community initiatives; Devise and coordinate photo opportunities; Organize events including press conferences, exhibitions and press tours; Attend relevant trade shows to build relationships and promote the company’s products and initiatives

    Qualifications

    As the ideal candidate for this role, you have:

    • – Postsecondary diploma or degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business, journalism or related field
    • – Experience building and maintaining relationships with the public and athletic community, including sponsor teams
    • – +3 years of effective public relations and media relations experience, preferably in the sports industry
    • – +2 years of event / tradeshow management experience
    • – Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
    • – Basic graphic design skills and an eye for aesthetics in presentation materials
    • – Excellent writing, content development and editing skills, including proper spelling, grammar and punctuation
    • – Sound understanding and use of media forms and format requirements
    • – Experience with both digital and print media
    • – Web content management skills and demonstrated success with Social Media tools such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and others
    • – Excellent computer skills and literacy, including working ability in Google suite and Adobe Cloud

    What You’ll Work On

    You will be given meaningful, productive and challenging assignments while being introduced to a career in Software, Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering. As part of our Engineering team, you will assist in the development of consumer electronics in the areas of product design, analysis and testing. Qualifications

As the ideal candidate for this role, you have:

  • – Have a high school diploma, though having some post secondary education is preferred
  • – Have at least 3 years of experience in providing exceptional customer service and demonstrating troubleshooting skills
  • – Are a runner and/or a cyclist. Maybe you don’t compete, maybe you do, but at the very least you know that a spider on your bike shouldn’t have webs
  • – Are a natural champion for the customer and aren’t happy until they’re happy. You can deal with customers sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally, and offer the appropriate options, solutions and resolutions required
  • – Have excellent communication skills – you listen first, then share knowledge
  • – Have a strong technical aptitude. You don’t have to be a full engineer tech or gear head, but your technical prowess is important since that’s really what we’re all about
  • – Ideally have bike grease under your nails – you have experience assembling, maintaining, and repairing bikes of all shapes and sizes in a bike shop or even in your garage. You can logically work your way through tear downs and builds ups to “make it all happen”
  • – Are extremely well-organized, tenacious and methodical when it comes to process and getting things done
  • – Live and promote high standards of professional integrity and superior customer service which lends to having a strong work ethic and positive team attitude
